WeConnect is a not-for-profit organization committed to helping people of minority build stronger bonds with their loved ones, their community, and themselves. We connect individuals with a variety of resources to facilitate their mental health and personal development. Moreover, since individuals are the foundation of family units and communities, we also aim to empower individuals to take care of themselves while caring for others. We value and respect the sensitivity of your concerns and welcome all people with diverse backgrounds, cultures, life experiences, religions, and sexual orientations.

01.

Family Conflicts

We all have different family dynamics and structures, and it is natural that there will be occasional conflicts in each family. Conflict occurs when family members have different perspectives, or misunderstand each other. While occasional conflicts are part of family life, conflicts that cannot be resolved peacefully can lead to arguments and resentment and can put a damaging strain on family relationships.

02.

Relationship Difficulties

A variety of relationships connects us, and every form of relationship maintains our ability to survive in our current society. Research has shown that subjective well-being is determined by the state and quality of one’s social relationships, and that intimate relationships, especially romantic relationships, are associated with both physical and psychological well-being of individuals (Kansky, 2018). In addition, a healthy relationship improves one’s mood and promotes psychological well-being and psychosocial adjustment. An unhealthy relationship, however, can cause various forms of stress to oneself and others, which can lead to mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and personality shifts.

03.

Children and Youth Development

Children and youth are our future. Childhood is a critical developmental stage that sets the foundation for further development. Adolescence is a particularly challenging period of growth yet, adolescents’ self-perceptions, family and peer relationships can all be stressful. They may not have the capacity to cope with the pain and stress of immigrant culture shock, family conflict, bullying, peer pressure, attention deficit disorder, or learning disabilities if they are experiencing them. Weconnect would like to help children and youths suffering from various problems to overcome their psychological problems, strengthen their resilience and support them to thrive in society with a positive and positive mindset.

04.

Depression, Anxiety, and Others

Depression, anxiety, prolonged sadness, and feeling stressed are common. The end of a relationship, loss of a loved one, job stress, financial difficulties, miscommunication with family and friends, or various life situations can trigger symptoms of depression and anxiety. When depressed, you may feel unmotivated to do anything, or you may be so troubled by your negative emotions that you don’t know how to deal with them. And when anxiety goes beyond the norm and starts to affect your daily life, it can cause many mental and physical problems. If these conditions have been going on for some time, it is natural for you to feel sad, tired, discouraged, and lonely. With the support of our professional team, Weconnect hopes to help you get out of your slump.

We Connect  Re Connect

Parenting Support

These programs are designed to help parents understand early child development and the importance of parental self-care in family caregiving. Our hope is to provide parents with supportive resources and programs that are educational and practical to take home that would prevent parental burnout and increase a positive family environment to motivate the family/parenting experience. As children grow, there are many concerns that parents have, which adds to the stress of parenting. But we encourage parents to prioritize self-care and seek help when needed, which effectively also encourages children to model after parents who practice self-care, live healthy lifestyles, and move onto the next stage of development - teen development.

Mental Health

Mental health is the state of well-being that may affect the cognitive, emotional, and/or social state of an individual. Many factors contribute to mental health disruptions (ex. Stress, depression, anxiety) causing further negative health implications, but treatment and support is available to help individuals to recover.

Dating and Marriage

Couples both in dating and marriage experiencing a quality relationship usually report less stress and anxiety, more acceptance, higher self-esteem, healthier behaviors, more support to need, and so on. It is interesting to notice that people living in countries named as “the happiest countries in the world”, such as Denmark, Norway, Colombia, Israel, and Australia, share the same feature which is the high level of social support. Furthermore, this support emphasizes relationships, which come from strong family bonds, intimate relationships, or a sense of communal solidarity. Romantic relationships play an important role in shaping one’s identity throughout lifespan and continue to pose influence on various life areas.

Individual Empowerment

Here at WeConnect, our goal is to help people build stronger bonds with their loved ones, the community, and themselves. One of the ways people can build stronger bonds is through empowerment and we believe it starts with the individual. Individual empowerment is the process of where individuals gain better understanding and control over their lives, which enables positive changes to the environment around them and improves health-related circumstances (ex. Mental health, life stressors, etc.). It is intended to help them build success and resilience. Individual empowerment is an essential aspect for positive well-being which encourages people with a stronger sense to respect and take care of others and their own general health.
